UC Knocks Off Transylvania in Dual Meet

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — The Union College swimming teams swept past Transylvania in a dual meet at the Robsion Arena Aquatic Center on Saturday. The UC men’s team took a 76-19 decision, while the women’s squad won 58-35. (more…)


Cabral & Helander Named Swimmer of the Week

Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Renata Cabral (Union College)

Renata had a very strong showing against Asbury University. She won her 3 individual events: 200 Fr – 1’59’’73, 50 Fr – 24’’70 (new Asbury University pool record), and 100 Fr – 53’’91, and helped the Union 400 Fr Relay win its event, as she anchored the relay with 52’’93.

Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Kim Helander (Freshman, Urbana)

Won three races last weekend at the Tri-Meet between Malone University and Notre Dame College .He split a 22.8 fly on the 2oo Medley Relay, 100 Fly 51.13 and broke the Urbana University school record in the 200 Fly by 3 seconds going a 1:57.51.

WJU falls to Xavier

Cincinnati, OH-Saturday, both the Cardinal Men’s (1-1) and Women’s Swimming (1-1) Teams fell to Xavier University by scores of 122-82 for then women and 117-82 for the men.
Head Coach Rick West indicated that despite the loss he was pleased with the effort from the team.
“This has been a great year for new challenges for our team,” West said. “We opened the year at WVU with the WV State Games and today we had the opportunity to compete against a fellow Jesuit institution in Xavier.” (more…)

Billeaud and Tucker named ASC Swimmers of the Week (10-27-11)

Michelle Billeaud (BRENAU-GA) – Billeaud (pictured left) competed at Converse College Invitational (10/14-10/15), breaking two Brenau University Swimming records – 100 back (1:00.00) & 200 back (2:10.06), also a personal best – and qualifying for the NAIA National Championships in the all events, including 100 free (55.38). She was the lead off leg in the 200 medley relay, with a back split of (27.67), leading Brenau to a 1st place finish opening the invitational.

Hudson Tucker (Mars Hill-NC) – Has not lost a race this year. His best times so far; 100 back 52.33
200 back 2:00.23, 100 fly 52.43, 50 free 22.15.
